Activision games are preparing to invade the Game Pass

As if Game Pass wasn't attractive enough as it is, the catalog prized by gamers is finally about to receive major Activision Blizzard licenses. Since the studio was acquired by Microsoft last year, only Diablo IV has managed to make its way into the subscription formula. After shaking up the video game industry for months, the historic transaction will finally have the positive impact that the Redmond firm promised. While waiting for the inclusion of Call of Duty Black Ops 6 on October 24, subscribers will be able to enjoy some classics reworked by Activision.

At least that's what a new report from Windows Central suggests, which claims that Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will be coming to the service next month. The information initially shared by a leaker named eXtas1s has been confirmed by various sources on the specialist site. The original source also claims that Spyro Reignited Trilogy and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 should follow suit, but this part could not be verified by Windows Central. We will just have to wait until next month to judge the veracity of the leaker’s statements. Still, this direction seems obvious, to say the least, given how much Xbox would gain by strengthening the popularity of its subscription.

What other games should we expect?

These additions suggest that Microsoft is looking to honor Activision Blizzard's legacy through Game Pass. Between nostalgia and accessibility, players will be able to discover or rediscover titles that have left their mark on the video game industry. With the arrival of a first Call of Duty in the catalog in a few months, it is not impossible to imagine a collection of past titles in order to relive the great hours of the franchise. In addition to the games published on Xbox One and Series, the Redmond firm could also use backwards compatibility to offer access to cult titles like Modern Warfare 3 and the first Black Ops.

As for Blizzard franchises, only Diablo III has a console version that is potentially eligible for inclusion in the Game Pass. With its free-to-play status, Overwatch 2 is obviously not affected but already benefits from some in-game bonuses such as skins. While the collection of console ports is not as vast as Activision's, players can still hope to find the Diablo IV expansions in the catalog. It remains to be seen whether Blizzard is ready to whether to gamble on a day one inclusion, or whether you will have to wait before you can experience Vessel of Hatred at no extra cost.
