This second month of the year starts off strong with the release of Civilization VII, available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch from February 11. Civilization VII is coming to Meta Quest 3 and 3S mixed reality headsets in a version simply named Civilization VII – VR. You will be able to approach your adventure from a whole new perspective. Thus, this version of Civilization VII will let you enjoy the top-down control table in virtual and mixed reality to develop your strategy. You can also lean in to get a closer look at your cities and armies.
Note that 4X play will allow you to switch between virtual reality and mixed reality. The command table will then adapt to your physical space. “The appearance of the command table in VR and MR is not the only immersive element added to Civilization VII – VR. As in other titles, you play as a world leader and face off against other leaders and important figures from the story, each with their own abilities, personalities, agendas, and ideas about how to be an effective leader. Diplomacy and interaction are a big part of Civ, and in Civilization VII – VR, you have the ability to hold those diplomatic meetings face-to-face,” Meta writes.
In addition, this version on Meta Quest 3 will allow you to revisit your exploits in the Archives in the form of dioramas to behold in VR or MR. Civilization VII – VR will be released on Meta Quest 3 and 3S in spring 2025. You can add it to your wishlist now.
Please note that the online multiplayer of Civilization VII – VR requires not only an internet connection, a 2K account, but also a Meta account.
