Dacia launches Bigster sales, with two unpublished engines

Dacia launches Bigster sales, with two unpublished engines

Since the electric Spring in 2020, Dacia had not introduced any new models in its range. However, since January 9, 2025, there has been a seventh model, and it is the Bigster. Announced and presented last year, this extended version of the Duster has just launched its marketing. The first deliveries are expected in the spring, as is its arrival in dealerships.

The Bigster is a double bet: the first concerns the prices, since the best-equipped versions of the model will also be the most expensive of the entire Dacia range combined, at more than 31,000 euros. As for the Duster, we are limited to 28,100 euros maximum. Second bet: the size. Despite its length equivalent to a Jogger, the new Bigster is the first to invest in the C segment of the automobile, with a height of 1.71 m high and a length of 4.57 m.

Quite close to the concept that announced its arrival (and that of a new generation of Duster), the SUV takes up its main features, and has nothing to envy from certain competitors available at much higher prices. Dacia does not want to betray itself, and its boss, Denis Le Vot, declared during the press presentation of the Bigster that "we wanted to deploy on the C segment the recipe that worked so well for us on the B segment. In other words, do it Dacia style".

Prices and engines of the Dacia Bigster

Apart from its dimensions, it is difficult to find real differences between a Bigster and a Duster. To integrate the SUV into the range, Dacia mainly had to focus on its engines, and review its hybrid offering to make up for the difference in size and weight of the SUV. Thus, we find under its hood a new 1.8 155 hp petrol engine for the micro-hybrid version, replacing the 1.6 140 hp also present on the Jogger.

As an alternative to the hybrid engine, Dacia has focused on a new LPG engine, this time 140 hp instead of 100 hp, and equipped with micro-hybridization, too. It is with this 140 hp LPG version that we will enjoy the Bigster in the entry-level Essential finish (24,990 euros), and that we will save the most on the top-of-the-range Extreme or Journey version (28,300 euros). With the 155 hp hybrid, you will have to pay 31,700 euros on Extreme and Journey, or pay 29,700 euros for the Expression finish.

Essential Expression Extreme Journey
Hybrid 155 / 29700€ 31700€ 31700€
GPL 140 24990€ 26500€ 28300€ 28300€
