Disney+ at 2 euros per month: how to take advantage of it?

Update 01/21 — The €1.99 per month offer for twelve months of Disney+ has been extended until February 3. The change is not yet visible on the website, but the support page now mentions the new deadline (via iGeneration).

Original article, 01/02 — Over the next few weeks, Disney+ should see its number of subscribers grow significantly. To attract customers, the video-on-demand service will temporarily lower the price of its offer, partly financed by advertising. A new step in the platform's well-established strategy to encourage users to opt for this subscription that includes advertising.

Disney+ at 2 euros per month for one year

A few weeks ago, Bob Iger, Disney's CEO, was being honest by clearly stating that the rates "recently implemented, which include a price increase, were designed to direct more people to the AVOD [advertising] offer." This subscription, billed at 5.99 euros per month, is in fact generally chosen by more than half of subscribers. A good compromise for users since they can enjoy Disney+ programs without having to bleed themselves dry every month.

And a choice that is undoubtedly very lucrative for Disney+, which has just found a new idea to finish convincing you to subscribe to its offer with advertising.
Starting this Friday, January 3, and until January 21, Disney+ will lower the price of its offer with advertising, which will be offered at 1.99 euros per month, for a period of one year, without commitment. Beyond that, the initial rate of 5.99 euros per month will resume.

You will only have to go to the subscription page for the offer with advertising to take advantage of it.

An offer to catch up with former Canal + subscribers?

In addition to attracting more and more customers to its subscription with advertising, this promotional offer could above all be the solution found by Disney+ to recover the castaways of the Canal+ Ciné Series offer.
Since January 1, 2025, the SVOD platform has indeed left Canal+ and has just joined Orange. Unfortunately, only the operator's subscribers have the possibility of subscribing to a subscription at a preferential rate.
With its temporary offer at minus two euros, Disney+ is probably hoping to recover a few thousand more subscribers, including potential new recruits.
