End clap for the multiplayer Resident Evil Re: Pour

The end of the online game Resident Evil RE: Verse is coming soon. Launched in October 2022, this multiplayer title that was to bring together all the Resident Evil universes, in a single game, and a single universe, allowing six players to compete will definitively close its doors, after less than three years of activity.

Resident Evil RE: Verse, it's the end of the multiverse

End clap for the multiplayer Resident Evil Re: Pour

Launched In October 2022, shortly after Resident Evil Village, RE: Verse was to be a big part of the future of the Resident Evil license. Online support, linking all the universes of the saga, so that fans could have fun online with intense six-player games. Unfortunately, even if it could sell a dream on paper, in reality, it was very far from being a success.

After a catastrophic score of 34% positive reviews only (out of more than 2800 reviews), the game had a catastrophic launch and never managed to seduce many people. So much so that two and a half years later, Capcom announced the end of RE: Verse. The game as well as the DLC will be removed from sales from March 4, 2025 at 6 a.m. (French time). The servers will be cut off from June 30, 2025 at 8:59 a.m. (also French time).

We hope that from now on, Capcom will be able to turn and concentrate on the continuation of the solo opuses of Resident Evil which, for their part, continue to be successful and prove that players are not necessarily attracted to multiplayer service games. Nearly four years after the release of Resident Evil Village, fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of Resident Evil IX.

According to many rumors (which have been circulating for a long time), the game was supposed to be announced last year. Then, now, it would be this year. So, fingers crossed.
