Fast Pair headphones could soon alert you when they finished loading

Fast Pair headphones could soon alert you when they finished loading

Like many Bluetooth headset users, you probably have a little trouble monitoring the charge level of your earbuds. While some manufacturers add LEDs directly to the case to give you a rough idea of the charge level of the earbuds, this is unfortunately not always the case.

Generally, there is no other solution than to pair the earbuds with your smartphone to be able to access this information. But Google is reportedly preparing a new feature to solve this problem.

An alert on your smartphone as soon as your earbuds are recharged

While Android already includes a system capable of warning you when your Fast Pair earbuds are running low on battery, it does not offer any way of knowing when they are fully recharged. Google is reportedly developing a system to fill this gap.

Android Authority, which has made a habit of analyzing Android application code to find new features to come, made a discovery along these lines in a recent version of Google Play services. Several lines of code seem to refer to an alert to indicate the end of the charge of Fast Pair headphones. In concrete terms, a notification should be displayed on users' smartphones as soon as the charging case of their headphones reaches 100% of its charge.

This feature is not really new. Google has already integrated it to alert Pixel Watch users on their smartphones when their smartwatch has finished charging.

Since this new feature is still under development, its availability date is still unknown. We will probably have to wait a few more weeks, or even months, before seeing it deployed on a large scale.
