But on many other platforms — on iPhone or Apple TV, for example — it’s not limited to that: it’s a real aggregator that allows you to access content from many other streaming services.
An American integration to start with
From the Apple TV app, this integration allows you to search for a program on partner services, resume playing content or be notified of the arrival of a new episode of your favorite series, without having to juggle apps. It’s extremely practical, and the most popular streaming platforms are playing the game: Disney+, Prime Video, Paramount+, etc. All… except one. Netflix has been conspicuously snubbing these features for years.
After years of waiting, Apple and Netflix have apparently finally found common ground. In the United States, the Apple TV app actually offers to connect to Netflix. Once this formality is completed, you will find the programs currently playing in the "Up Next" line, synchronized with the rest of the devices. The Apple TV app will also offer Netflix program suggestions. It is also possible to add a Netflix series or film to the watchlist.
This is very good news for viewers, who will no longer have to check if a certain content is available on Netflix, after a search in the Apple TV app. Currently, only "Netflix Originals" programs can be found by the application's search engine in France and elsewhere, without benefiting from the other functions.
