A mistake can cost a company as big as Microsoft dearly. A few days ago, players spotted an important piece of information about the game Visions of Mana, revealed in detail during the Xbox Developer Direct conference. On the Xbox website, it was written that the title would be released this year on a slew of platforms, including the Xbox Game Pass catalog on the day of its release.
Very quickly, players got excited about this prospect. It must be said that Game Pass is the most profitable subscription in the entire video game industry, especially when you want to get your hands on very recent games. Unfortunately, this was just a simple mistake on the part of the manufacturer. Indeed, Square Enix has confirmed that Visions of Mana will not be included in the service's catalog. Asked by the media Eurogamer, the firm explains:
“We are aware that the Xbox.com site contained information indicating that Visions of Mana would be available on Xbox Game Pass and we can confirm that this is an error. Although we are constantly updating As we continue to update the library and look for new ways to provide members with value and choice, we have no plans to bring Visions of Mana to Game Pass at this time.”
You can’t have it all
The disappointment is as great as the excitement that has been built in such a short time. Visions of Mana is the latest in the Mana franchise, but not the least. During the conference, the developers emphasized that the latest installment builds on a legacy that spans 17 games. It will be the first console title to released for at least 15 years. 30 years after its first debut, the studio was able to bring together in one game everything the franchise does best, both in terms of story and gameplay.
The game's synopsis describes: “Dive into a new adventure alongside Val, a young boy recently appointed as a soul guardian and tasked with accompanying his childhood friend on her pilgrimage to the Tree of Mana.” In terms of gameplay, the studio has already revealed to us that Visions of Mana will be semi-open world, which generally means that players will be able to freely explore several areas. As of yet, no release date has been announced, but the game is expected to be released on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
