The S25s natively integrate Gemini
Several leaks have revealed that Samsung has teamed up with Google to integrate many Gemini features into its Galaxy S25s. As a reminder, Gemini has been available in France since last February. It is the replacement for Google Assistant; initially, it was called Bard. As a feat of arms, let's mention its ability to remember that you like fries.
The goal of this collaboration is quite obvious: to offer more experiences supported by artificial intelligence. To what extent? Promotional documents for the Galaxy S25 give us a good overview.
They were shared by the Brazilian media Tecnoblog. The marriage of Galaxy AI with Google Gemini will extend the latter’s reach to multiple applications by enabling targeted contextual actions.
In the illustration below, for example, Google Gemini is called upon to list, in the form of notes, the places mentioned in a YouTube video.
Gemini is making its mark, but not on the sly
Another leak, shared on the social network X, reveals that Gemini oversees various native applications, such as Samsung Calendar, Samsung Notes and Samsung Reminder. You will read it like us, the assistant is able to add, edit or delete events from the Calendar; to search for information or summarize it in Notes based on descriptions and titles in particular; to prioritize Reminder tasks or even to perform searches there.
On the other hand, as explained, Gemini is also not authorized to manage all the features offered through these applications.
In short, Google and Samsung want to promote Gemini within the Korean company's smartphones. In this regard, the above is not exhaustive. Not sure that this decision will delight everyone, however, Gemini is far from unanimous. By the way, note that Samsung will also inject its own AI system through Now Brief. This reminiscence of Google Now will present users with a personalized summary of their day – in case they have already forgotten it.
Furthermore, it is likely that these extensions will concern other Samsung devices via One UI 7. As for the Galaxy S25, they will be officially presented on January 22.
