How to display Wi-Fi passwords saved on Android?

Finding the password for a Wi-Fi network is rarely easy if you haven't written it down somewhere or saved it properly in a password manager. One way to find them is to log in to the management interface of the box or router in question. This will allow you to access the security settings where the password that protects your connection is located.

But on Android, there is a much simpler solution for finding your lost Wi-Fi connection passwords. Google's mobile operating system records and stores all the passwords for the Wi-Fi networks to which your smartphone has been connected. And it is entirely possible to display, in clear text, these saved connection passwords on your device. Here's how to find them.

1. Open Network Settings

Open the Settings of your Android smartphone and go to the section dedicated to Network & Internet and select the Internet connection of your device.

2. Access Saved Networks

From the Wi-Fi connection settings page, scroll through all the options and enter the Saved Networks menu. Then select the network for which you want to display the password. In the connection details, press the Share button and confirm your identity using the module used by your smartphone (fingerprint sensor, facial recognition, etc.).

Sharing Wi-Fi should automatically display a QR Code that can be scanned by any device equipped with a photo sensor and capable of reading them to automatically connect to the network. But you will also find the password, displayed in clear text at the bottom of the page, to allow you to copy and paste it or enter it manually on your other devices that are not compatible with reading the QR Code.
