Like many people, you have probably spent several days with a melody stuck in your head. And very often, you can no longer remember the title or the artist who sings this melody that occupies your mind all day long. Unfortunately, without knowing (and sometimes understanding) the lyrics of the song you are humming, it is very difficult to launch a query in a search engine in the hope of finding the name of the song or its author.
However, you do not need to know the lyrics of a piece of music to be able to identify it. With a little artificial intelligence and your musical talent, you can ask Google to find a song by humming it to your smartphone. Here's how to do it.
1. Download the Google app
If you have an Android smartphone, the Google app should, in principle, already be installed on your device. If you have an iPhone, however, you will need to download the app to your device if you haven’t already.

2. Launch a voice query
Open the Google app on your smartphone, then in the search field, tap the microphone icon. If you are using the Google app's voice search for the first time, it is very likely that the app will ask you for permission to access your smartphone's microphone.
After granting your permission, click on the Search for a song button, displayed at the bottom of the screen.
3. Hum the song
Take your best voice and hum the unknown song that haunts your mind. Hum your song for as long as you need to, until the Google app stops listening.
Depending on your talent and the accuracy of your vocal delivery, Google should display a list of several results that may match the tune you just submitted.
If the app fails, try again by trying to apply yourself a little more or by choosing a more characteristic passage from the song. Google should eventually identify this tune that never leaves you.
