iOS 18.3 and macOS 15.3 correct a very serious security flaw

It is understood that Apple has mainly focused on improving the existing with iOS 18.3, in particular for functions related to Apple Intelligence. We will have to wait for iOS 18.4 to be entitled to it in Europe and in French on iPhones and iPads; on Macs on the old continent, Apple Intelligence is already active but only in English.

The final version of iOS 18.3 also fixes a few bugs, it contains mainly security fixes. And it is much more serious, since out of the twenty or so fixes, one concerns a "zero day" flaw, a flaw known to Apple and exploited by attackers before a patch was available. The vulnerability affects CoreMedia, the framework that manages the playback, processing, and synchronization of audio and video content.

The flaw in question allows a malicious application to elevate its privileges, in other words it can access functions or data normally reserved for the system or authorized users, compromising the security and confidentiality of the device. Suffice to say that it will be in your best interest to update your iPhone, iPad, and Mac right away. iPadOS 18.3 and macOS 15.3 have the same patch.
