Unintentionally validating a purchase on the App Store or an in-app purchase can happen faster than you might think. On iPhones equipped with Face ID, validating a purchase requires a prior action from the user. The user must press the side button twice.
On the other hand, for iPhone users equipped with only the Touch ID sensor, simply touching the fingerprint sensor can be enough to validate the payment of a purchase or subscription, on the App Store, or within an application. Fortunately, in the event of an accidental purchase, Apple offers the possibility of getting a refund by following a few very simple steps.
1. Access your purchase history
Open a web browser and go to reportaproblem.apple.com. Sign in with the Apple ID that was used for the purchase you want to refund to access your history. Apple offers the possibility to request a refund within 90 days of purchasing an application or an in-app purchase.
2. Report a problem
Once you are logged into the content purchase management interface, under the heading What can we do for you, click on the drop-down menu and select Request a refund.
Then choose the reason why you want to request a refund from Apple and press Next. Finally, select the purchase or subscription that you want to be refunded for, and confirm by pressing the Submit button. Apple will send you, within 48 hours, the decision on whether or not to accept your refund.
