Microsoft would like smaller surfaces

The Surface Laptop is currently available in 13.8-inch and 15-inch screens. As for the Surface Pro, the screen diagonal is unique: 13 inches! Microsoft has not deviated from these formats in recent years for its two flagship ranges, but that could change.

Competing with the 11-inch iPad Pro

The manufacturer should indeed offer more compact variants of these two devices from spring (April or May), which would be equipped with an 11 to 12-inch screen. Windows Central's sources report that these new tablets and laptops would retain the "high-end" look of the current versions.

The 11-inch Surface Go was reportedly designed to compete directly with the iPad Pro of the same size; we can therefore expect to find a high-frequency screen, support for stylus pens, and a detachable keyboard. As for the small Surface Laptop, it should replace the Surface Laptop Go, a mid-range 12.4-inch laptop. The technical sheet would include a backlit keyboard and a higher-resolution touch screen (1536 x 1024 for the Laptop Go).

The two new devices would run on Snapdragon X or Plus chips, which would allow them to be positioned around $800 to $900. Microsoft is preparing to launch new computers on January 30, but for its professional customers. On this occasion, it will probably be a question of a refresh of the Surface Laptop 7 and Surface Pro 11 with Intel Lunar Lake chips. With an original configuration for the Laptop 7: 5G support. Only Snapdragon models offer this capability at the moment.
