In December 2020, CD Projeket Red finally released its highly anticipated CyberPunk2077 after more than 7 years of development and many promises. Unfortunately, it was the beginning of an unprecedented fiasco in the video game industry with an unplayable title, stripped of many features and content, with unacceptable bugs and optimization issues.
The end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021 were therefore chaos and hell without a name for the CD Projekt studio which had to spend 100% of its time repairing the different versions of the game. It would take more than two years and the release of the full version of CyberPunk 2077 and the DLC Phantom Liberty to finally have a next-gen version (on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S) as well as a largely acceptable PC version.
Since then, the studio has not given up and has continued to release new updates with improvements and free content. Today, the game is finally optimized as it should be and up to its ambitions (at least, on Next-Gen and PC). So much so that, for the first time since its release, CyberPunk 2077 has just reached the rank of extremely positive reviews on Steam.
“I never thought possible”
It was in a tweet published on his personal account that a developer from CD Projekt Red created the buzz. The latter shared a screenshot of the Steam page of CyberPunk2077 and expressed his joy to see that for the first time since December 2020, the game finally obtains the rank of extremely positive evaluations.
Enough to boost the teams who are currently in full development on the next The Witcher, but also on the Project Orion, the sequel to CyberPunk 2077 which should arrive in the next few years, probably on the next generation of consoles.
