Like the toad's drool that does not reach the white dove, rumors tend to slide around Nintendo. In general, the Japanese manufacturer prefers not to react to indiscretions, sticking to its launch plan. But it is true that this week, leaks have been particularly numerous concerning the Nintendo Switch 2. At CES, the accessory maker Genki made a name for itself overnight by presenting accessories for the future console on its stand, as well as a model of the device.
The affair caused so much noise that Nintendo came out of its traditional reserve. A company representative told the publication Sankei that "[these] images and videos are not official." It's not much, but then again it's very rare for the company to respond to leaks. And then this spokesperson didn't deny anything...
But now, it's Genki who is casting doubt. On the GamesPark website, a representative of the accessory manufacturer explains that the dimensions of a case presented at CES did not necessarily have the dimensions of the Switch 2… since the company had not seen the console. The accessory is therefore based on rumors, like thousands of others already on sale on Aliexpress and elsewhere.
However, the latter had assured that he had had the device in his hands, which would even be available on the black market for those who can afford it! Enough to cast a veil of suspicion over this famous leak…
One thing is certain: Nintendo is indeed preparing to launch a new console! The manufacturer has already announced that the curtain will rise before March 31, with a marketing date that remains to be defined. Retailers are getting ready, as is the case with Fnac: the online store contains several references to a new Nintendo console, accessories and games from third-party publishers. One more sign that pre-orders are approaching, and therefore the presentation of the machine…
