Nintendo Switch 2: The controllers are entitled to important new features

New rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2 have just appeared online. Although not much is known officially about the Japanese console, its supposed characteristics are already attracting players like magnets... a bit like the console's next controllers? Indeed, the latest information reported mentions magnetic Joy-Con at the structure of the Nintendo Switch 2.

We owe this news to the Spanish media Vandal, which claims to draw its sources from the manufacturers that produce the accessories. This system would replace the one on rails that we currently have, and which sometimes poses problems in terms of ergonomics. But this is not the only information that the media shares with us. It seems that the future Joy-Con of the Nintendo Switch 2 would be wider than those currently offered.

This would be consistent with the fact that the console would have a much larger size than the current models. It should be remembered that some rumors claimed that the screen of the Switch 2 would reach 8 inches, compared to 7 currently on the Nintendo Switch OLED. Although this could be much more comfortable for playing, the new features raise questions about the compatibility of the old models with the new one.

Consumerism when you hold us

According to the manufacturers, the pro controllers would be as for they are well compatible from one generation to another. Owners of accessories should therefore have nothing to worry about. Nothing also tells us that the Joy-Con will be exempt from their famous drift problem which has been the origin of many additional purchases over the last 7 years.

The problem of inter-generational compatibility does not only concern the controllers. Many players are wondering if they will be able to use their current cartridges. Since nothing has been made official yet, Nintendo has not had time to answer this question, which will say a lot about the brand's preservation strategy.

A console for 2025

Finally, Vandal states that the Nintendo Switch 2 would have a release window set for early 2025. The most recent rumors also claimed that the release date initially planned for the end of the year had been shifted internally. The console will have to assert itself against the PS5 Pro and the revised Xbox Series X since according to rumors they are both planned in these waters as well.
