Official: Sony offers you 3 PlayStation 2 games on PlayStation 5

The growing popularity of retrogaming is evidence of a growing interest in the games of our childhood. Without going so far as to say that "it was better before", it is true that we miss certain franchises. Remakes and remasters generally revisit the main successful licenses of the 1980s to 2000s very well, but it is rare that our appetite for nostalgia is satisfied. Manufacturers are therefore going all out on the side of of their services to ensure we get regular bites of retro games.

Nintendo has its Switch Online, Xbox its Game Pass and Sony its PlayStation Plus. Only the latter's Premium formula gives us access to dozens of so-called "classic" titles. This is not to displease us, but it still lacks some real nuggets to be completely satisfied. That's why the company plans to bring us the best games of its PS2 generation.

3 games for the price of one

Some might argue that this is the best generation for PlayStation. We ourselves have vivid memories of our long gaming sessions on the console and its incredible titles. After revelations from leaker TCMFGames, Sony has made official the addition of three PS2 games to the PS Plus Premium catalog on PS5. As expected, we can count on the game Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Released in 2002, the game is obviously a best-seller on the PlayStation 2.

Secondly, subscribers will be able to (re)discover Tomb Raider Legend, already the seventh game in the license when it was released in 2006. Lara sports a retro style that we love, in an adventure at the crossroads between the legend of King Arthur and the Bolivian lands. Finally, the third game is Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, the platformer released in 2002, no less well-known than the two previously mentioned games. This little stew will be available from June 11, only for Premium subscribers, remember.

Nothing official yet

Ultimately, the rumors were partially right. Sony will have waited until the second anniversary of its “new” PlayStation Plus formulas to offer this advantage. It will only present itself once for now, or at least until the company gives us more details. The period she calls Days of Play is full of little surprises like these.

To enjoy them, you will need a Premium subscription, priced at €16.99 per month / €49.99 per quarter / €151.99 per year for the Premium plan. If you still don't know which one to choose, refer to our complete guide.
