Samsung is generally known for its rigorous software support, but this year, the One UI 7.0 update based on Android 15 seems to be causing more problems than expected. After already delaying its launch, the company is reportedly planning at least three more betas before rolling out the stable version, which could push the final update to April 2025.
Up to six betas for the Galaxy S24 before the final update?
Samsung has already announced that a fourth beta version of One UI 7.0 will be available for the Galaxy S24 and S24 Ultra as early as next week. But according to sources, the company is not stopping there and is planning two more beta updates before rolling out the stable version. According to leaker @tarunvats33, the fifth beta is expected to arrive in March 2025, followed by a sixth in April 2025. This means that the stable One UI 7.0 update would not be available until the end of April 2025. Here is the expected update schedule:
- Beta 4: February 2025
- Beta 5: March 2025
- Beta 6: April 2025
If this information is confirmed, other Samsung smartphone and tablet models, especially older or more affordable ones, will have to wait even longer to receive the One UI 7.0 update.
A delay that is starting to annoy users
Google usually releases a new version of Android in the third quarter of the year, and Samsung usually adapts it in the fourth quarter under its One UI interface. However, this year, the South Korean manufacturer is at least four months behind its usual schedule. Samsung justified this delay by the need to integrate major changes into One UI 7.0, which would explain the multiplication of beta versions.
Despite this explanation, many users are already expressing their frustration with these successive delays.
