Oppo is organizing the international presentation of its Find N5 on February 20, a new folding smartphone whose particularity is to be thin. Extremely thin: according to the latest rumors, the device could measure 4mm thick when unfolded! This would be a real record, knowing that the current holder is the Magic V3 from Honor with 4.4 mm.
A thinness at all costs
Oppo intends to make this wasp waist a selling point: last month, the Chinese manufacturer was already having fun comparing the Find N5 with the iPhone 16 Pro which seems huge next to it. Oppo has posted a video to stir things up:
Oppo also confirms the presence of a Snapdragon 8 Elite in the engine as well as wireless charging (and wired of course, via a USB-C port that seems almost too big). Internationally, this model could be renamed OnePlus Open 2. Oppo has yet to announce the countries where it will be marketed.
This will not be the only smartphone to play with the idea of thinness. In January, Samsung showed the first images of the Galaxy S25 Edge, which should measure 5.84 mm thick. Apple is also preparing to enter the game, with the iPhone 17 Air expected for September. This new model could measure between 5.5 and 6mm. Compare that with 6.9mm of the iPhone 6, which is so far the thinnest model of the American manufacturer. Apple's thinnest device is currently the 13-inch iPad Pro, with 5.1mm.
