The official launch of the Phone (3a) series is approaching and Nothing believes in the potential of its new smartphone. The firm has just confirmed that its future model will feature a "professional-level" camera system to capture photos and videos in any environment.
An ambitious camera unit for the Phone (3a)
While rumors suggest the existence of two Phone (3a), a classic model and a "Pro" variant, Nothing is content to mention the "Phone (3a) series". The firm promises significant developments in photography for performance worthy of the references in this field. The series will feature a new 50-megapixel periscopic telephoto lens, with AI-powered clarity enhancement.
This new sensor will offer a 3x optical zoom, as well as a 6x lossless zoom and a 60x ultra zoom, with a 70mm focal length that's great for portraits. Inside, a TrueLens Engine 3.0 developed by Nothing will help improve photo rendering by relying on a combination of AI-powered tone optimization and scene detection. In addition, the series will feature a 50-megapixel main sensor that captures 64% more light at the pixel level. It has a 300% higher absorption capacity than the Phone (2a), the manufacturer specifies. Finally, this range of smartphones will support 4K video recording and Ultra HDR photos.
In its message, Nothing mentions the presence of "four sensors" on its smartphone. Along with the 50-megapixel sensor duo, we expect an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and a 50-megapixel front camera on the front. The future Phone (3a) series would also be comfortable taking macro photos, if we are to believe this image published on X:
Nothing compares itself to Apple in a video
In addition to praising the qualities of its next smartphone, the brand is bringing out the big guns in a video published on YouTube. Nothing compares the camera of its future Phone (3a) to that of the iPhone 16 Pro Max, the current flagship model at Apple. The duel is, in appearance, unbalanced between a model expected in the mid-range of Android and one of the most complete smartphones on the market.
Several photos taken with the two devices are available for download via this link Google Drive. We have also included these images in our article:

The results of Nothing's smartphone are very promising, but it is still too early to draw hasty conclusions. Indeed, it should be kept in mind that this is a communication operation on the part of the manufacturer. The Phone series (3a) will be unveiled on March 4 at 11:00 a.m.
