Pixel 9A: A taste of the next Google's next affordable smartphone

Pixel 9A: A taste of the next Google's next affordable smartphone

After its price in euros and its release date, the Google Pixel 9a is once again making headlines with an image leaked by Evan Blass. This rendering gives a glimpse of the design of Google's next mid-range version. The screen and its borders seem to follow a similar approach to the Pixel 9 range, while some details, such as the front camera sensor, appear slightly different.

The design of the Pixel 9a is aligned with that of the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro

The leaked rendering reveals rounded corners close to those of the Google Pixel 9 and 9 Pro/XL. The front camera sensor appears a little larger than on the previous model, while antenna lines are visible on the edges of the smartphone. This feature could confirm the use of a metal frame, as on Google's premium models.

The wallpaper used is from the same collection as those on the Pixel 9, but it is not exactly the same as those already present on Google's high-end smartphones. On the interface side, the Pixel Launcher remains unchanged, which makes sense, as Google reserves software changes for major Android updates or the launch of its high-end models.

More balanced bezels?

According to this render, the left, right, and bottom bezels appear uniform, while the top bezel appears slightly thicker. If this is confirmed, Google could continue the momentum of the 2024 models by adopting a more pronounced symmetry for the Pixel 9a’s screen.

This first look at the Pixel 9a suggests a smartphone that is visually close to premium models while remaining a more affordable alternative. However, we will have to wait for the official announcement to know the technical details and possible improvements, even if we already know almost everything about the Pixel 9a a few weeks before its presentation…
