For the first time since Super Princess Peach on Nintendo DS in 2005, the regent of the Mushroom Kingdom is back in the spotlight. To everyone's surprise, the Kyoto firm revealed Princess Peach: Showtime! during a Nintendo Direct last September. As the title's launch on March 22nd approaches, new announcements are keeping the hype alive for this new adventure. To mark the princess's first starring role in nearly 20 years, Nintendo is treating Joy-Con collectors to a new pair dressed entirely in pastel pink.

Previously, this shade of pink Joy-Con was paired with a controller in a pastel yellow that was far from convincing. Clearly aware of the growing appeal of accessories in soft shades, the manufacturer has chosen to offer a solid combo. Enough to satisfy Regina George-style pink aficionados. This new pair of controllers will go on sale the same day as Princess Peach: Showtime!. At this point, there's no indication that this is a limited edition. But since Nintendo accessories tend to sell out quickly, interested gamers will have to keep an eye on this release. The announcement of the Joy-Con is also accompanied by a new trailer revealing new transformations for Peach.

Peach more badass than ever
After playing the “girlboss” in Super Mario Bros. The Movie, Princess Peach has not said her last word and discovers new talents in Princess Peach: Showtime!. Detective, swordsman, kung-fu master or even pastry chef, the heroine can do it all and more. The new extract shared by Nintendo lifts the veil on two other powers of the princess: Western Peach and Ninja Peach. With her lasso, Western Peach will be able to catch enemies and objects from a distance, as well as ride a horse in racing scenes that are almost reminiscent of Toy Story 2. The ninja transformation will offer the possibility of camouflage in the decor and enjoy mobility unparalleled.

Taking place in a magical theater with infinite possibilities, this new adventure will offer a variety of gameplay that is surprising to say the least. Let's hope, however, that Nintendo has managed to find a certain balance so that these chapters do not seem anecdotal. While waiting to discover the title to have a clear heart, these new images prove once again that Princess Peach: Showtime! will benefit from an artistic direction with all the trimmings, worthy of the sunny charm of the heroine.
