While leakers are barely wrapping up the rumor train concerning the Galaxy S25, since these have been officially presented, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is taking back the lead and is the subject of rumors in turn.
Rumors that are not very engaging to say the least. The recent Galaxy S25 were criticized for the lack of glaring new features on their hardware, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 had undergone the same treatment in the summer of 2024. According to the Dutch site Galaxy Club, we would be off for a spin with the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
No evolution of the camera modules
Indeed, the next flip smartphone from the Korean brand would keep the same photo configuration as last year. It would integrate a main module with a wide-angle lens and a 50 Mpx sensor, aided by a second module with an ultra-wide-angle lens and a 12 Mpx sensor. On the front, we would find the same 10 Mpx sensor.
While it is of course a little early to confirm this information, it nevertheless seems likely. Samsung has indeed changed the photo configuration of the Z Flip with the 2024 model, going to 50 Mpx on the main sensor. Generally, a hardware change in photography leads to a certain conservatism in the following years for the world number 1. On the other hand, this does not prevent it from improving the manufacturing process of its photos, which goes through multiple stages. The lack of hardware improvements will therefore not necessarily mean a lack of positive developments in photography.
Other rumors surrounding the Z Flip 7
Previous rumors suggest that the Z Flip 7 would have at least a few surprises on other fronts than photography: its two screens would be larger, and the smartphone should integrate a Snapdragon 8 Elite, the most powerful chip on the market at the start of 2025.
Let's add that according to our colleagues, Samsung would still be preparing a more accessible model, a sort of Galaxy Z Flip FE. That being said, this information should be taken with a grain of salt, given that the rumor of a cheap Z Flip has been circulating for several years.
