Blink and you missed Samsung’s hint at a tri-fold smartphone! During the Unpacked presentation on January 22, Samsung’s head of user experience Jay Kim talked about how Gemini Live will change the way we interact with our devices.
And it’s not just about traditional single-screen smartphones: Behind the CEO, the slide shows a two-fold device, a tri-fold device, an XR headset, and a pair of glasses.
The “tri-fold” rears its head
Samsung makes smartphones with screens, of course, and with a folding screen (the model on stage is a Galaxy Z Fold). We also know that the manufacturer is developing a headset under Android XR, the Moohan project, and the company officially announced yesterday that augmented reality smart glasses were on the drawing board with the help of Google.
As for the rumor of a "tri-fold" smartphone, it has been circulating for several months, and if Samsung has not confirmed anything on stage or in an interview, the image released during Unpacked leaves little doubt. This device could be presented this summer, at the same time as the new range of Fold and Flip folding devices.
