Switch 2: Nintendo should opt for a reasonable price, based on the return of players

It's been more than three weeks since Nintendo (finally) unveiled the Nintendo Switch 2. For the moment, apart from the design of the console, we don't know much. No release date, no technical specifications, no games, or even a price. All of this should be revealed on April 2, at 3 p.m., during a dedicated Nintendo Direct.

However, Nintendo wants to reassure fans and players and has just confirmed, during its latest quarterly report, that the price of the new Nintendo Switch2 should be reasonable and based on on the return and expectations of players.

A Nintendo Switch 2 at an affordable price?

Switch 2: Nintendo should opt for a reasonable price, based on the return of players

Last night, Nintendo conducted its traditional quarterly review and discussed the arrival of the Nintendo Switch 2. It was through its president, Shuntaro Furukawa, that the firm confirmed that the price of its next console should be affordable, reasonable and set on the basis of player feedback and expectations.

Of course, Nintendo did not reveal this price. President Furukawa remained evasive, specifying that it will be necessary to take into account different factors. A way of making it clear that even if Nintendo wants to be reasonable, the next Switch 2 will probably be offered at a higher price. than the first Switch when it was launched.

In March 2017, the first Switch was sold at 329.99 euros. According to many specialists and analysts, the price of the Switch 2 should be 399.99 euros, an increase of 70 euros, necessarily explained by inflation and the new components allowing to have a more powerful console.

If this price is confirmed, it will remain reasonable and close to the prices offered by the PS4 Pro in 2016. As a reminder, precisely, the Switch2 should offer performances similar to those of the PS4 Pro. Case to follow therefore.
