Updated on January 10, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.: following photos of a prototype without camouflage posted on the web, Tesla did not wait long to flood social networks with the first images of its new restyled Model Y. The opportunity to discuss some key information about the electric car, and in particular its autonomy. On the program, the new Model Y 2025 in Long Range version will be able to go up to 719 km. However, the announced autonomy follows a Chinese CTLC cycle. With the European WLTP, we should therefore expect 600 kilometers, or 50 kilometers more than the old Long Range version of the Model Y.
As for sales, China has just opened the order book and announced deliveries from March 2025. The prices of the models vary from 291,500 yuan (around 38,600 euros) in the Propulsion version, and 331,500 yuan (around 43,900 euros) in the Dual Motor version.

The restyled Tesla Model Y is revealed. "Juniper" has not yet received an official presentation, but two first photos of a model without camouflage leaked online this Thursday, January 9. Enough to start 2025 off on the right foot and announce a model that will certainly be much talked about this year, as it must improve Tesla sales and offer customers what the "Highland" restyling allowed the Model 3 to benefit from.
The first photos come to us from a frozen lake, where Tesla seems to have fine-tuned the final adjustments of its restyled Model Y, without even trying to camouflage its new design. It is the first model to be completely uncovered, even if the presence of snow on the bodywork still allows a veil to be kept on the details of the rear part. We will confirm the presence of thinner optics, at the front and at the rear, and strips that fit the entire width of the model, to connect the projectors.
The design is more reminiscent of the Cybertruck than the new restyled Model 3, while the lines are also more angular, for a story of aerodynamics. As a reminder, Tesla is expected on this point in order to further limit the consumption of the engines of its Model Y, to ultimately extend the autonomy. According to predictions, it would gain up to 150 kilometers on the Long Range version, to more than 750 kilometers of action radius in the end. Tesla would count on a 95 kWh battery, in addition to versions with 57.5 kWh (455 km) and 75 kWh (600 km, the Propulsion version) batteries.
It remains to be seen whether the restyled Model Y "Juniper" will be able to be produced from the German factories in Berlin for Europe, in order to protect the car's eligibility for the ecological bonus in France. Production has started in Tesla's factories in Shanghai, where its first examples will be delivered. Whether it is a Chinese or German production, we should not see the Model Y Juniper arrive on our roads in France before May.
