The end of support for Windows 10, scheduled for October 14, is making many users angry, and for good reason. Many users whose hardware configuration does not allow them to "officially" upgrade to Windows 11. Microsoft, which suggests that they buy a new PC, has just warned: if you stay on Windows 10, your Microsoft 365 applications will no longer work.
Microsoft 365 soon to be compatible only with Windows 11
For Windows 10 users with a Microsoft 365 subscription, this is probably a cold shower. Because if the operating system will no longer benefit from any updates, this will also be the case for Microsoft 365 applications.
According to this blog post, even if you decide to extend Windows 10 support on your PC by signing up for the (paid) Windows 10 extended security updates program, you will no longer be able to access the applications of the Microsoft 365 suite after October 14.
An announcement that remains rather confusing, however, because Microsoft has also updated the Microsoft 365 support page that seems to contradict the news. The company clearly states that "Microsoft 365 apps will no longer be supported on Windows 10 after support ends on October 14, 2025." but specifies that they should still be usable. At least that's what the support page suggests a little further down:
Microsoft 365 users on Windows 10 who have just renewed their subscription will appreciate this.
