Google is about to unveil its new mid-range smartphone, the Pixel 9a. After its price in euros, new images reveal a new design as well as some technical characteristics. The phone could well appeal to fans of the Pixel range with notable improvements.
A design close to the Pixel 9 and four colors
The renderings unveiled by Android Headlines claim that the Pixel 9a's appearance would fit perfectly into the Pixel 9 family. The most visible change would be the rear photo bar, which is now almost flat, bringing a more refined aesthetic. The Pixel 9a will be offered in four colors: Peony (Pink), Iris (Purple), Obsidian (Black), and Porcelain (White). With dimensions of 154 x 73 x 8.9 mm, this model would therefore retain a compact format while improving ergonomics.
A better photo sensor and a larger battery
On the photography side, the Pixel 9a would be equipped with a 48 Mpx main sensor with f/1.7 aperture. A notable improvement over its predecessor. It would retain a 13 Mpx ultra-wide angle as well as a 13 Mpx front sensor for selfies. Battery life could also see a significant advance thanks to a 5100 mAh battery, compared to 4492 mAh on the Pixel 8a. Charging speeds would remain unchanged, however: 23W wired and 7.5 W wireless charging.
The Pixel 9a would be offered at a starting price of €549 in its version with 128 GB of storage and €649 with 256 GB of storage. If the rumors are confirmed, pre-orders will open on March 19 and the official sale will follow on March 26.
