The next Battlefield will be released during the 2026 fiscal year

A few hours ago, Electronic Arts officially unveiled the new installment of the Battlefield series. The American publisher gave us the first information, presented the studios that were working on the title and offered us the first gameplay sequences. It was also an opportunity to announce the Battlefield Labs program, allowing fans to sign up to hopefully play early alongside the developers to provide feedback and help improve the game at the end of development.

Unfortunately, no specific release date was announced. Electronic Arts later came back to this, confirming that the title was indeed planned for this current fiscal year.

Battlefield before April 2026

Battlefield will therefore arrive on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC during this fiscal year, which will begin on April 1, 2025 and end on March 31, 2026. The next installment in EA's series should therefore arrive before April 2026. According to recent rumors, from an industry professional at Amazon Games, the game would be, internally, planned for the end of the year, between October and November 2025.

In any case, in a recent press release press release to provide an update on its quarterly results, Electronic Arts announced: “EA has unveiled Battlefield Labs, a new initiative allowing players to test and innovate before the next game in the franchise scheduled for fiscal year 2026”.

As a reminder, the end of the year should be particularly animated by the release of GTA 6. A few weeks ago, a report from Jason Schreier confirmed that a very large part of the industry was awaiting a communication from Rockstar Games to announce their plan and confirm their games for the end of the year or postpone the release to early 2026. The goal being to stay as far away as possible from the release of GTA 6.

So, it is not surprising that Electronic Arts has not yet communicated on the release of Battlefield. The promises, expectations and ambitions seem very high and EA probably wants to release its game at the best time to avoid any disruptive element that could harm its launch and success.
