The Nintendo Switch traveling is a revolution thanks to this

The Nintendo Switch traveling is a revolution thanks to this

Love your portable console, but are frustrated by its lack of versatility? AVerMedia has the accessory you need. The Nintendo Switch is the only machine with the versatility to switch from a portable console to a home console, with a few tools. In fact, when used on the go, players rarely bother with its supplied dock and forget about the big screen in the hotel that would have been so comfortable to play on.

Soon, this worry will be a thing of the past. The AVerMedia brand dedicated to gaming and streaming, unveils several travel accessories that allow your Nintendo Switch, but also other portable consoles, to connect to a television, no matter where you go and without having to take the charging station with you.

No need for the dock!

The two most practical products are the Core Go and the Elite Go. They come in the form of a charging block, and they allow you to broadcast the image of your console on an external screen, while charging it and serving as a hub for multiple connections. The Core Go, the least expensive solution, is literally the alternative to the Nintendo Switch dock in a compact and transportable format. The best part is that all PC consoles are supported by the accessory: Steam Deck, Rog Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, Logitech G Cloud, etc. That’s why the device’s 4K support is also a key selling point.

We had the opportunity to get our hands on it, and we can confirm that its size is even smaller than a modern laptop charger, even though it delivers almost the same power. The Core Go and its improved version, the Elite Go, display 100W of power for charging. It has two USB-C ports, a USB-A port and an HDMI 2.0 port. The promise of these products is to offer you a single solution for almost all your travel needs.

A turnkey solution

The difference with the Elite Go is that this premium version benefits from an integrated capture card. This term will speak to streamers who want to broadcast content even on the move, but who don’t want to take the external box/capture card in addition to their portable console’s dock. If you have a computer with you, you can stream anywhere you go, always with just one accessory in addition to your machine.

The Elite Go strikes the perfect balance between capture functionality and charging convenience, and boasts 1080p60 video capture capability. These two tools are displayed respectively at the price of €89.90 and €149.90. They do not yet have a release date, but will both be available in black or white, and should be released before the end of the summer, as the brand confirmed to us.

Key points

  • 100W fast charging with PD3.0 Quick Charge.
  • Triple simultaneous charging of devices.
  • Overcharge protection and intelligent monitoring.
  • GaN technology for better efficiency and heat reduction.
  • High-quality video capture in 1080p at 60 fps.
  • 4K60 HDMI connection for resolutions ultra-high.
  • Compact and lightweight design.
  • Universal compatibility with various devices
  • Release date: TBA
  • Core Go: €89.90
  • Elite Go: high-quality video capture in 1080p at 60 fps. €149.90

Streaming above all

The third product, called Ultra Go, is a much more advanced version of the previous two, with a strong focus on streaming. While the Elite Go can allow you to broadcast content in real time using a computer, the Ultra Go does even better by allowing you to record your content in advance, without a computer. To do this, the device has an SD card port that allows you to capture your gameplay, store it, and then broadcast it later when you have access to a computer to upload it.

Again, the design of the dock is not only compact (compared to that of the Nintendo Switch for example), but it is also extremely light to hold and is compatible with all PC consoles on the market. The slots and curves really adapt from the smallest machine to the largest, all the way up to the Nintendo Switch with an insert to insert the charging cable since its USB-C port is on the lower edge of the console.

This dock allows users to record their gameplay in 4K30 or 1080p120FPS resolution with a simple press of a button, or to broadcast live by simply changing to the desired mode. In terms of ports, there are 3 USB-C, 2 USB-A, an HDMI 2.1 and even a 3.5 mm jack port that allows you to connect a headset. A priori, gamers and especially streamers lack nothing to continue to make a living from their art even when traveling. Of course, the Ultra Go dock is also a high-performance hub and a versatile charging station.

The device will be available at a price of €279.90. While this price may seem exorbitant, it is in fact aligned with the price of a high-performance capture card (around €180), that of a dock (between €70 and €90) and the possibility of having compatibility with all the main portable devices on the market. Creators can therefore have content not only with their Nintendo games, but also Microsoft, Steam, Epic Games Store and via cloud gaming if they have the necessary devices. This is a rare (if not unique) versatility that AVerMedia promises us.
