The earbuds' housings contain magnets that allow the earbuds to slide properly into their slots. But sometimes they are turned in such a way that they do not come into contact with the pins that transfer power. Or the left earbud is in the slot reserved for the right earbud, and vice versa!
A sound to reassure
In fact, it can seem as if the earbuds are charging, when they are not at all. And that can be a problem when you need it! Google has thought of this annoying problem and is working on a solution that has appeared in the latest version of the Pixel Buds app… but not yet for users, since for the moment it is simply a reference in the code.
Android Authority has discovered that the Buds Pro 2 case will be able to emit a sound when the earphones are correctly inserted, which will reassure the user. This setting will be present in the “Case sounds” options of the “Other alerts” menu of Android. This feature is therefore not visible at the moment, but it makes sense and could appear soon.
The Pixel Buds Pro 2 launched last year have a special feature: their case integrates a speaker, which is used for the location function (also available for the earphones themselves). So why not take advantage of it for other functions!
