2024 is the year of remakes and remasters for Nintendo. After releasing Mario vs Donkey Kong a few weeks ago, the studio announces the release date of its next two installments in the genre. These are Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD. It is On the occasion of MAR10 DAY, the company is talking about its upcoming projects, including the upcoming animated film from the Super Mario Bros universe.
In a video posted on his networks, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto talks to us about this upcoming feature film, once again produced by the Illumination teams. As a final surprise, he reveals that Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door will be released on Nintendo Switch on May 23, while Luigi's Mansion 2 HD will be released on June 27. Just a few more weeks to wait for one, and a few more months for the other. But time should pass quickly with everything that awaits us.
Indeed, this is not without recalling that Princess Peach will make her arrival in a first game centered around her person. Princess Peach: Showtime! is scheduled for March 22 and plunges us into an adventure under the sign of transformation and theater. Enough to prepare us for the return of the plumber for a more traditional game.
A tight release schedule for the remasters
The only regret we have is the lack of a trailer for this announcement. The dates were given without new images to to get our teeth into, we'll have to make do with the old ones. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door takes us to Port-Lacana, while Peach is once again nowhere to be found. Released on Nintendo GameCube, it was a resounding success when it first appeared. Choosing it for a remaster was therefore a natural choice for Nintendo.
This is also the case for Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, which will be entitled to visual improvements, of the same order as the third opus released on Switch. This will be an opportunity for players to rediscover the title, solo or with several people as is customary. Unlike the most recent installment, however, there will be no co-op on the same console.
