The ultra version of the Xiaomi 15 is fast approaching

Xiaomi 15 Pro: an announcement in the coming days

The Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro series should soon welcome a new member, the 15 Ultra. Lu Weibing, officially presented as "the head of sales support for the China region and the International Business department, as well as branding, product planning, manufacturing, sales and marketing for Redmi" on the French site (yes, it's long), confirmed on Weibo (via IT Home) that the presentation would take place shortly after the Chinese New Year (on January 29) and that it would be "on sale worldwide" after its release. The exact date remains vague, but the announcement should in principle take place between the beginning of February and the Mobile World Congress (which will take place from March 3 to 6).

Concerning the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, it will certainly, like its two chronological big brothers, make its debut in China. But it is made clear by the source: it is destined to conquer other markets, including ours. Incidentally, it is likely that its presentation will coincide with the deployment of the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro in our countries.

The ultimate

For the moment, this is the only official data coming from Xiaomi. The company has said nothing about the characteristics of its smartphone. But as is often the case, leakers have taken care of this in recent weeks.

At the end of October, for example, we learned that Xiaomi would be giving its Xiaomi 15 Ultra a telephoto lens with a 200 Mpx sensor so that it could dominate the competition. Thus, like the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which we presented as the king of photography in our test, its successor will undoubtedly also deliver in this area.

To tell the truth, as an Ultra model, we don't see many areas in which this smartphone could be found wanting. In addition to a cutting-edge camera block offering four sensors, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra would inherit a Snapdragon 8 Elite and would have a large 6000 mAh battery capable of supporting wired charging speeds of 90 W and wireless charging of 50 W.

Add to that a 2K OLED panel at 120 Hz and an overall premium finish, and you conclude that there is no reason to worry. In addition, this will please the so-called "Oliv" who had left a comment on this subject in a previous news item: eSIM support would finally be in the specifications (at least that is what a recent HyperOS entry reported by the site smartprix suggested).
