Ahead of the official presentation of the Samsung Galaxy S25, S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra, we were able to get our hands on them for around 90 minutes. Time to try out the various new features of One UI 7, the new interface based on Android 15, but also to get a first opinion on the new designs of the Korean brand's high-end smartphones.
Galaxy S25 Ultra: much more comfortable
Of the three devices, this is undoubtedly the one that has undergone the most significant change. Since 2022, and the absorption of the Note range's heritage by the Galaxy S22 Ultra, these models have tended to adopt a very square profile. The Galaxy S25 Ultra comes to the forefront with more rounded corners. These do not yet have a curvature as pronounced as what the iPhone 16 Pro or the Pixel 9 Pro can practice, but the change is at least noticeable.
We were also able to compare with a Galaxy S24 Ultra. The latter suddenly seems much heavier and bulkier, so the evolution seems immediately profitable in our eyes. On the other hand, this has a direct consequence: the stylus is now stuck to the edge of the smartphone. As a result, it is a little more difficult to take it out quickly when you are not used to it. It will be necessary to verify whether this impression is confirmed during the test.
Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus: marginal changes
For the Samsung Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus, the design is, with two exceptions, exactly the same as last year. We have therefore gained 0.4 mm in thickness, which gives an impression of great finesse, particularly on the S25 Plus with its large format.
Another development, also present on the S25 Ultra, the photo modules see the circle surrounding them thicken. These circles are also detachable. We can see a slight gap between the bezel and the glass of the phone if we look at its surface. We saw a Galaxy S25 where the three modules had been changed to arrive at a blue, white, red pattern. Nice to bring a little color other than through the shell of the smartphone. Let's finish by saying that, for once, the finishes are still as impeccable.
