WhatsApp is starting the new year by rolling out several new features that should brighten up your conversations. The app is introducing new camera effects and selfie stickers and improving its reaction system with emojis.
New effects for your photos and videos
After launching effects in video calls last year, WhatsApp has decided to extend them to the photos and videos you share with your loved ones. You can now apply around thirty backgrounds, filters and various effects to your photos and videos shared in conversations.
To top it all off, WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that will make more than one person smile. You can now take a selfie and create stickers with them to liven up your conversations. Enough to redo your entire range of reactions in stickers that you will embody. Note however that this feature, already deployed on Android, will arrive on iOS a little later.
For the rest, WhatsApp has focused on improving features already in place in its application. Thus, the reactions that you can apply to received messages will be able to be published more quickly than usual. Double-tapping a message will allow you to view and select the reactions you use most often.
Finally, more anecdotally, you can now easily share a pack of stickers with your loved ones directly from a conversation.
A few weeks ago, WhatsApp launched another very practical and particularly anticipated feature. The instant messaging application was indeed rolling out text transcription of voice messages, a liberation for all those who loathe these messages that are often too long to listen to.
