Windows 11 24h2 makes the file explorer bug

Windows 11 24h2 makes the file explorer bug

The already long list of Windows 11 24H2 bugs continues to grow. The latest victim is none other than the OS's nerve center, File Explorer, which is affected by numerous display issues.

Windows 11 derails File Explorer

The first rather problematic bug occurs when you display File Explorer in full screen on your PC, that is, after pressing the F11 key on your keyboard. The File Explorer navigation bar actually overlaps the displayed content, making it impossible to access certain elements. The issue does not appear to be new and is also present in Windows 11 23H2, according to the patches that Microsoft has rolled out to Insiders.

Windows Latest, which reported the information, also explains that another bug, which makes the mouse cursor disappear while you perform an action on text, and which was supposed to be fixed, is still present in 24H2. But another major problem affects File Explorer. Depending on the positioning of the window on the screen, especially when the window is maximized, access to the options menu, represented by three small dots, is simply impossible.

Instead of being displayed at the bottom, it is displayed at the top, thus protruding from the edge of the screen, which hides almost all of the available options. The only solution in this case is to reduce the size of the window and move it to the bottom of the screen to be able to access the entire menu.

An update that brings problems

Since its deployment began last October, the Windows 11 24H2 update has caused many problems for users. Sometimes even to the point of pushing Microsoft to pause the deployment until a patch is available. This was the case on several occasions, particularly among gamers, with some games simply refusing to start after the update was applied. While most of the issues have since been resolved, others, such as those affecting File Explorer, persist. Just take a look at the Microsoft forums or at Reddit to realize it. Since October, many users have already reported these same File Explorer bugs after applying the 24H2 update on their machine.
