It's going to be easier to use an iPhone with Windows 11. Users of an Apple smartphone enrolled in the Windows Insiders program can now install a new version of the operating system (build 4805) that displays a new panel to the right of the Start menu. The latter will return several pieces of information such as the battery and connectivity status, and it also allows access to text messages and calls. No need to constantly have your iPhone in front of you!
The iPhone on the same level as Android in Windows 11
Owners of Android smartphones will not be surprised: they have been entitled to this panel since last year. But integration with the iPhone is always more complicated. This new feature is a continuation of the Connected Mobile (Link Phone) function, which since 2023 has allowed you to send iMessages on a PC thanks to a hack that intercepts messages with Bluetooth.
The new panel also allows you to transfer files between your PC and your iOS or Android smartphone in one click. This function was unveiled in December, but you have to go through the Link with Windows mobile app. This new method is even simpler since it is integrated into the Start menu. All you have to do is pair your phone with your computer.
