Xbox has very good news for PS5 and Switch players

A few months ago, Microsoft made a surprising announcement for some, and completely predictable for others. The parent company of Xbox promised to bring its exclusive games to platforms other than its consoles, starting with direct competition. 4 games were then released on Nintendo Switch and PS5, including Sea of Thieves and Grounded. Are these 4 games the beginning of an even bigger movement? It is quite possible.

While the financial statements of all the studios have just been released, Windows Central publishes a lengthy report detailing the situation of Xbox within the industry. The media then claims that other Xbox exclusives will soon arrive on PlayStation and Nintendo consoles in the coming months. Just like the previous ones, these could be independent games, but it seems that the bet will take on much more value since some AAA could also be concerned. The report explains:

Discussions are still ongoing

If we are to believe the following words, Microsoft would no longer set limits on the type of games that would be offered on competing platforms. The goal is above all to increase profit margins, and bringing its most popular titles to new customers always considerably increases potential profits. Some games that were previously out of the running could therefore be brought back to the forefront. We are thinking of: Starfield, but also the next Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle or even older titles like Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5or Gears of War.

For the moment, Microsoft has not confirmed anything yet. This plan, which is called “Latitude” internally, is still causing a lot of debate within the company's teams. It is obvious that such a decision can be a double-edged sword. If on one side While revenue from game, content and DLC purchases increases, this opening could also undermine sales of Xbox consoles and Xbox Game Pass subscriptions at the same time. This is therefore not a situation to be taken lightly.
