For once, Xbox is unveiling new controller colors, or rather new colorful patterns. 6 new shells are now available for sale to inaugurate the brand's “Vapor” series. The design in question represents smoke, with dense and unique swirls on each controller. This new collection follows in the footsteps of the Stormcloud Vapor controller while introducing new vibrant colors.
The five original models are Electric Vapor (green and yellow), Cyber Vapor (pink and dark purple), Fire Vapor (red and orange), Nocturnal Vapor (green and gray) and finally Dream Vapor (pastel pink and purple). The controllers are not sold as is, but are directly available in the Xbox Design Lab. This allows you to customize many other features, such as the color of the joysticks, pads, and triggers.
The only one that has a preconfigured version is the Dream Vapor. The colors of the shell then extend to the joysticks and triggers to deliver a powder pink controller with shades of purple to enhance the whole thing. It is available at the price of 69.99 euros, which is no different from the classic Xbox Series controllers. Purchasing this accessory will also allow you to enjoy a dynamic background to integrate into your Xbox home.
A collection of clothing in the colors of the Vapor
The Vapor pattern is not only investing in Xbox controllers, but is also exported to the field of textiles. Microsoft unveils a brand new collection, inspired by the smoky trend, composed of 3 hoodies. Adorned with an Xbox logo as well as the controller symbol, the garment sports the green, red and purple colors of the controllers for well-defined styles. They are already available on the site Xbox Gear at the price of 47.95 euros per sweater.
Although exciting, this announcement is enough to leave a bitter taste in the mouth. Indeed, Xbox is known for releasing a large number of controllers for each generation of consoles, but even more so since its Xbox Design Lab exists. However, customization is limited to these accessories only and not to the consoles. There are indeed collector's editions, but each of them comes with a high price tag, making them inaccessible to many. The release of the Starfield skin gave new hope for Xbox Series X customization, but since then, no other models have appeared or appear to be in the works.
