Looking for a high-end touchscreen tablet but don't have 1000 euros to spend on the latest iPad Pro? There are Android solutions that are much more affordable and deliver very good performance. This is particularly the case with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S, but also the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro models – which were just released at the beginning of March.
By default, you still have to pay between 500 and 600 euros for such a model, but AliExpress has come along for its anniversary. Since Monday morning, you've had crazy prices on the latest premium tablets on the market. Thus, the Xiaomi Pad 7256 GB plummets to 339 euros instead of 481 euros for the second-hand with the code ASFR60. As for the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro, it drops to 381 euros instead of 581 euros with the code ASFR060.
If you're willing to spend a little more, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro adds a bit of power (with a beefier processor) and a slightly improved photo offering. That said, considering the performance, the base model, the Pad 7, remains an excellent choice. We can't recommend one over the other: the price-quality ratio is incredible in both cases with the AliExpress promotion. A word of advice: beware of stock shortages that can occur at any moment.
Which one to choose?
The Xiaomi Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro have just been released and represent the new generation of high-end Xiaomi tablets. These two models share several features in common, such as their sublime 11.2" screen. with a 3.2K resolution and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. You will be able to enjoy games or movies with a really high-performance screen – which will not eat up your battery.
The Xiaomi Pad 7 is equipped with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor while the Pad 7 Pro relies on the more powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which is one of the most advanced processors on the market. That said, the Pad 7 is not left behind and will also be able to comfort you in all your activities. These tablets run Android 15 with Xiaomi's HyperOS software overlay, which offers more customization while remaining very intuitive.
For photography (even though tablets aren't originally designed to be a camera), the Pad 7 Pro stands out with a 50 MP f/1.8 main module and a 2 MP depth sensor. The base Pad 7 has a single 13 MP sensor that will also do the job. Note that both models are equipped with a high-quality selfie camera with 32 MP for the Pro and 8 MP for the standard version. If you have meetings, it will be a good companion.
There is no difference in battery life since both tablets are powered by an 8850 mAh battery that will last several days. The Pad 7 Pro supports 67W fast charging (to recharge 40% of the battery in just 20 minutes) while the standard Pad 7 only requires 45W charging. In both cases, it's rather high-end compared to what we see on the market.
So, which one should you choose? While we tend to recommend the Pad 7 Pro for its performance, the lower price of the Pad 7 makes us lean towards it. The differences aren't huge in everyday use, and the price difference makes the difference. That said, in the long run, you'd be better off investing in the Pro model. In any case, AliExpress is amazing on pricing because these prices are absolutely crazy for a product that already sells very well – even without a discount.
