Avowed is hosting a new important update, what's new?

While we wait for Obsidian to reveal a seemingly substantial roadmap for Avowed over the rest of the year, potentially including DLC or even a PS5 release, the version available on PC, Xbox Series, and Game Pass is getting a new update. Once again, this one offers new features, fixes, and improvements on several levels. Let's take a closer look.

A new update Update to Make Avowed's Living Lands Better

A month and a half after its release, Obsidian clearly intends to support Avowed in the long term, while waiting for the release of The Outer Worlds 2 from the same studio, probably later this year. Thus comes the update 1.3.1, which notably adds two features highly requested by the community: support for "high contrast" for certain screens in the interface, and the "Anti-aliasing" option for the FSR, available on both PC and consoles.

In addition to this, the latest update Avowed's update brings significant fixes and improvements, including performance improvements in Fidelity and Performance modes on Xbox, as well as improvements to the interface to make it more user-friendly, and more generally to improve the overall gaming experience. Finally, various blocking bugs should no longer prevent Emissaries from progressing in the Living Lands. Visit the Avowed 1.3.1 page on the Obsidian forums to see the full patch notes.

As a reminder, Obsidian promised last week that a “ A detailed roadmap for the upcoming year for the title will be revealed in the coming weeks. We should therefore soon hear about DLC aimed at deepening Avowed's story, as well as features highly requested by the community, such as a New Game+ mode. Finally, it could be that the title follows other major recent Xbox exclusives like Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle, and will eventually be ported to PS5 (or even Nintendo Switch 2?). Time will tell.
