On this Friday, October 25, 2024, Call of Duty aficionados and those nostalgic for the great Black Ops era can finally get started on the latest installment: Call of Duty Black Ops 6. The title is available on Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5 and PC, but also benefits from a launch on the previous generation of machines, namely PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. If you want to discover this new FPS in its best light but you don't yet have access to a next-gen platform, know that there is another alternative.
Provided you have a good internet connection and a compatible device (computer, smart TV, smartphone, tablet...) it is already possible to play Call of Duty Black Ops 6 in cloud gaming. For now, only the NVIDIA GeForce Now service offers such compatibility with the new game. This is the first time that a title in the franchise has been accessible via a day-one provider, so why not take advantage of it?
As a reminder, NVIDIA GeForce Now is a cloud gaming platform that requires a subscription (between €10.99 and €21.99 per month depending on the plan chosen – and allows you to access compatible PC games that you already own. No titles are included in the subscription, unlike what Xbox Game Pass and Amazon Luna offer, for example.
A title missing from Xbox Cloud Gaming
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is not accessible on Microsoft's cloud for a simple reason. During negotiations with the competition authorities for the sale of Activision Blizzard, the Redmond firm had to leave the cloud gaming rights of the licenses obtained to partners. At the end of the transaction, NVIDIA GeForce Now and Ubisoft both obtained authorization to offer Activision Blizzard games in streaming. At the time of these lines, only NVIDIA offers access to Call of Duty Black Ops 6 in the cloud.
What else is new at GeForce Now?
The arrival of Black Ops 6 on NVIDIA's cloud is also accompanied by the Call of Duty HQ hub software, which also includes Modern Warfare III and Warzone. The catalog of compatible titles is also enriched with many gems, including the new roguelike from the creators of Dead Cells, Windblown. Here is the complete list of new features available. find:
