“Death is a bitch” and it's rather vengeful. Nearly fifteen years after the last film, Final Destination returns to theaters with new characters, a new approach, but the same sadistic and very gory deaths. With Bloodlines, New Line Cinema hopes to remind viewers of the heyday of genre cinema. A first clip was offered to viewers last February, now it's time to really take the temperature with a trailer. It's hot...
So we're heading to a seemingly peaceful barbecue, but one that has an infinite number of chances of ending badly. After all, we're at Final Destination. These never-before-seen images perfectly encapsulate the atmosphere of the first films, having fun playing with the audience's expectations as to how the characters will be killed.
We discover a family in the middle of a Sunday meal who seem to want to enjoy the tranquility of a garden before death invites itself. A crazy lawnmower, a piece of glass in a drink, and killer wooden toys—there's no doubt about it, the 2000s saga is back. The story will follow the members of this family as they discover the curse that directly affects them. Years ago, their grandmother saw the explosion of a glass floor of a huge tower before it happened and was able to save dozens of people by grabbing the microphone. But you can't fool death, and it will attack all of its descendants.
A deadly sequel?
The release of Final Destination Bloodlines is fast approaching. The date is set for May 14th in theaters. In front of the camera of Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky (Kim Possible), we will find Richard Harmon, seen in the series The 100, as well as Brec Bassinger, Teo Briones, Kaitlyn Santa Juana. Rya Kihlstedt, Quintessa Swindell and Anna Lore will also be on the trip, for what promises to be a nostalgic bloodbath for teenagers of the 2000s.
Moreover, the most attentive will have noticed that a recurring character from the saga is making a big comeback. Tony Todd is reunited with William Bludworth, owner of a funeral home and self-proclaimed expert on death. He was to intervene as consultant, to help the main characters get through it. It remains to be seen who will survive and who will come out feet first.
