France Télévisions has announced that the logos of its main channels, France 2, France 3 and France 5, will disappear as of June 6, 2025. During a press conference held on March 25, Delphine Ernotte-Cunci, CEO of France Télévisions, explained that the new logo “france.tv“ will replace the distinctive numbers of the channels. A global transformation in the group's identity, which aims to simplify the user experience.
One logo to rule them all
Already Well-known to Internet users who use the group's web version and streaming platforms, the france.tv logo will gradually replace that of all public service channels. A decision that should not impact viewing habits: viewers will continue to access their favorite programs without difficulty, even if the logos change. Stéphane Sitbon-Gomez, director of broadcasting, also emphasized that the channel numbers will remain unchanged on DTT. Thus, France 2, France 3, France 4 and France 5 will retain their respective channels, and viewers will still be able to identify the channels via their number on the boxes.
Some exceptions though
Some entities of the group will retain their distinct visual identity, like Franceinfo or Okoo: the youth programming block broadcast on France 4, from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., will also retain its logo. In addition, France 4 will benefit from a strategic repositioning by taking the place of Canal+ on channel 4 of DTT. This change will optimize the visibility family and youth programs offered by France Télévisions.
This development is part of a broader strategy by France Télévisions, which intends to strengthen its presence on social networks and adapt to new consumption patterns. The objective is to conquer new frontiers, particularly on video platforms and social networks. A decisive ambition, as linear television is losing ground to streaming. While digital has profoundly changed By adapting to the way people consume information, France Télévisions intends to position itself as a major player in a changing landscape, by offering a consistent and accessible experience across all media.
Without revolutionizing the overall approach, the change of logo for France 2, France 3 and France 5 marks a new step in the evolution of France Télévisions. By simplifying its visual identity and strengthening its digital presence, the public group aims to remain competitive in a constantly evolving media market.
