Google has delayed pre-orders of the Pixel 9a, citing a component issue on some units. A leaker believes he has the real reason behind the company's decision and provides details.
The announcement of the Google Pixel 9a was unusual. The mid-range smartphone that some prefer to the standard or Pro versions for its price/quality ratio, however, lives up to expectations. What raised the eyebrows of those interested was the impossibility of pre-ordering the device once its presentation was over. Unlike all previous models, the conference ended and... nothing. No one has been able to add the phone to their virtual shopping cart since, and we don't know why.
Some time later, Google broke its silence by announcing that the Pixel 9a would be available to order in April 2025, not before. When asked why, the Mountain View company replied that there was a problem with components and that it affected a certain number of units. However, it did not say more and speculation is rife on the internet. A leaker named Tech Auntyji thinks he knows what really is going on.
This is why Pixel 9a pre-orders have reportedly been delayed
On X (Twitter), he wrote that “the controversy surrounding the sudden withdrawal of a highly publicized phone[from the hands of]many testers obviously revolves around overheating issues“. The user specifies that these problems are located “around the camera.” Technically, he is not mentioning the Pixel 9a, but it is the only “high-profile” smartphone that has recently been the subject of a “sudden withdrawal.”

And if the message wasn’t clear enough, Tech Auntyji adds another layer in a response simply saying “Don’t Google it.” At this point, it's impossible to say whether he's right or not. However, it remains a plausible explanation. We recall that during tests carried out by a YouTuber who got his hands on the phone early, the Pixel 9a's performance peaked at 60% of its maximum. Excessive heating may be the reason for this observation.
Darlings, the controversy over the sudden withdrawal of a very high-profile phone from many reviewers evidently revolves around heating problems. Especially around the camera. Should be back in action in April after an update to fix bugs. I personally use Hit spray for the same, dearies.
