Is this the end for this famous Torrent site? Offline for 2 weeks, it no longer provides any file

Millions of visitors every day. What should have been Originally a website to welcome “refugees” from a torrent platform that was taken offline in 2018, it has grown over time into a major player in the sector. Recently, it hasn't been talked about for its popularity, but rather for what looks like a slow descent towards its final closure. It all began in the summer of 2024 when TorrentGalaxy was sold to owners whose identity, unsurprisingly, remains unknown.

From then on, the site suffered a series of technical problems, causing its community to fear the worst each time it went offline. At the end of January 2025, he clearly stated his main problem: a lack of money, and asked for donations from charitable souls. This was clearly not enough, since about two weeks later, TorrentGalaxy became completely inaccessible. It came back online, then disappeared again, and to date, it has been inaccessible for over 15 days. A situation that has just gotten worse.

This popular torrent site seems about to shut down

On its page dedicated to the state of health of its infrastructure, we can only see the extent of the damage. The main site is offline, of course, but so are its backup addresses, even those on the anonymized Tor network. What's new is that the bots responsible for providing pirated movies and series to many torrent services are no longer working. Sites like 1337x have even decided to suspend some of them while they figure out what's going on.

Everyone is in the dark, including the teams in charge of TorrentGalaxy. No information has been communicated to anyone, and hope is dwindling by the day. Mafketel, one of the site's administrators, is pessimistic: "To be honest, the belief that everything will work out in the end is very low among all staff members." It's still unclear whether the problems are due to the actions of the rights holders or whether a lack of money is entirely to blame. Source: TorrentFreak
