It will probably be impossible to use your iPhone from the mac before iOS 19

The rollout of some of the latest new features in iOS 18 is proving particularly slow in Europe. While the new Siri with Apple Intelligence remains postponed indefinitely on the Old Continent, other major new features are missing. In particular, iPhone Mirroring, this feature that will allow you to use your iPhone directly from your Mac screen.

With this new feature, your iPhone screen is displayed directly on your computer even when it is locked, and you can then click and interact with all applications. This is in addition to the ability to answer and make calls or access iMessage from the Mac, and the Continuity and Handoff features (including the shared clipboard), which already exist for years in the ecosystem.

iPhone Mirroring will not arrive in Europe with iOS 18.4

The iPhone Mirroring application is, however, available in MacOS Sequoia. But if you try to launch it, the application currently returns an annoying error and refuses to work. This is a deliberate limitation, which is said to be linked to regulatory issues specific to the single market. Without really knowing all the details of the motivations that are slowing Apple down in deploying the new feature in this region of the world.

New information suggests that things are not about to change anytime soon. iOS 18.4 would not unlock access to this feature. Even though we are a few months away from the presentation of iOS 19, the latest final build of iOS 18.4 currently being tested by developers does not change anything on this side.

However, it does include the addition of languages for Apple Intelligence as well as the activation of generative artificial intelligence features for the brand's European customers. iOS 19 is expected to be unveiled sometime in June, with the first stable version expected to arrive as early as September. As the weeks go by, the likelihood of the feature arriving in Europe with the next major version of iOS becomes more likely.
