Marvel’s Spider-Man 3: First reassuring info for fans

Marvel’s Spider-Man 3: First reassuring info for fans

The game Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 gives us some news in a rather unusual way. The franchise, developed by the studio Insomniac Games, has been a reference for adventure and superhero games since the release of its very first opus in 2018. If we haven't had a new game for almost two years, Spider-Man hasn't said his last word.

New and important information concerning the story of Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 comes to us thanks to voice actor Yuri Lowenthal, the official voice of Peter Parker in the games. Those who have played the latest title already know what we are getting at. For the rest of you, this article contains major spoilers for Marvel's Spider-Man 2. If you haven't finished it yet, feel free to check out our other articles.

Peter on the sidelines?

In Marvel's Spider-Man 2, players were able to witness a passing of the torch with fanfare. The arrival of Kraven the Hunter and then Venom mobilized the forces of the two Spider-Men that we know, namely Peter Parker and Miles Morales. The latter took a place at the forefront, after a spin-off was dedicated to him. The outcome of the second main game largely makes us understand that Peter leaves the city of New York in the hands of Miles, to concentrate on his personal life and his commitment to Mary Jane.

This therefore suggested that Peter would be sidelined of the narrative, so that Miles becomes the sole main character of the third, and possibly final, game. It seems that this theory is unlikely after listening to the words of Yuri Lowenthal. He states that Peter Parker will not be relegated on the couch and that it will have almost as important a place as in the previous titles.

Still no look at the development

While the development of Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 was obvious after the end of the second opus, the game has not benefited from a real announcement. This information is therefore extremely premature and does not reflect in any way the progress of its development. Insomniac Games does not give any news of its future projects, whether for the Ratchet & Clank or even regarding its game Wolverine, which we were originally expecting for this year.

It must be said that the studio has suffered a lot of internal problems, especially since the hack that saw Wolverines’ fly on social networks in a completely playable version. Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 is therefore perhaps not the teams' priority at the moment, which would explain the lack of communication about it.
