Oppo returned in 2024 with its Reno 12. A year later, here are three new Reno 13s, its smartphones ranging from mid-range to the premium segment.
Reno 13 Pro and Reno 13, false twins
The Reno 13 Pro and Reno 13 share many common points on their technical sheets. To put it quickly, the Reno 13 is a smaller and less advanced version in terms of photos than its Pro version.
The two smartphones share the same MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chip (4 nm), with slightly less efficient cooling on the Reno 13. They both have a proprietary 80 W SUPERVOOC charge. The proprietary charger is capable of supporting PPS standards up to 55 W and PD up to 13.5 W. The smartphone can support Power Delivery up to 55 W.
In terms of design, the Reno 13 and 13 Pro have an aluminum frame and are protected by Panda Glass. If the two Oled screens share an FHD+ definition and a refresh rate of 120 Hz (adaptive 60 Hz), they differ in size, 6.59 inches for the Reno 13 and 6.83 inches for the Pro.
The photography differs
As we said earlier, the major difference between the two models is in the photography. The Reno 13 Pro pulls out all the stops with a wide angle (50 Mpx), an ultra wide angle (8 Mpx) and a telephoto lens (50 Mpx).
The Reno 13 ditches the telephoto lens for a 2 Mpx depth sensor.
Reno 13F/FS: the more accessible version
Let's move on to the Reno 13 F and 13 FS. Don't necessarily pay attention to the letter difference between these two, the two models are identical except for the difference in storage and RAM. The 13 F is the 8+256 version and the FS comes in 12GB and 256GB.
The mission of the Reno 13F (let's call them that from now on) is quite simple: to lower the price while keeping the same profile as the other Reno 13s.
So we have a polymer and fiberglass frame instead of aluminum. The chip is also less powerful, it is the very entry-level Snapdragon 6 Gen 1.
If premium First of all, the photo modules are equivalent to those of the Reno 13 with the same number of pixels, there is a small subtlety of weight. The main photo module, with wide-angle lens, trades its relatively large sensor (type 1/1.95 inch) for a smaller sensor (type 1/2.8 inch)
The list of concessions does not end there. The Reno 13F loses the protection of Gorilla Glass 7i, it switches to the somewhat old Wifi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 standards and its charge drops to 45 W.
Large battery and excellent durability
Let's finish with common points for the entire range: the three models guarantee the same duration of updates, 5 years of Android monitoring and 6 years of security patches.
They are also certified IP 69, IP 68 and IP 66. This protects it against high-pressure jets, high-pressure and high-temperature jets and against immersion.
A word on battery life. On paper, the entire range is well-endowed in terms of battery capacity. The Reno 13 Pro and FS go up to 5800 mAh and the Reno 13 to 5600 mAh. The manufacturer has undoubtedly used batteries incorporating a portion of carbon silicon to improve battery life, a particularly promising technology that has made it possible to exceed the glass ceiling of 5000 mAh that was in force until now.
Price and availability of the Reno 13
The Oppo Reno 13 and Reno 13 Pro will be available from March 7, 2025. We will have to wait until March 14 for the Reno 13 F and FS. The Reno13 Pro is sold in two colors: Violet and Graphite. The Reno13 is available in Butterfly White and Sapphire Blue. The Reno 13 F and Reno13 FS are available in three colors: Butterfly Purple, Sapphire Blue, and Graphite.
Here is the price list for the range, which has the simple goal of offering an Oppo smartphone every 200 euros:

• Reno13 5G (12 +256 GB): 599.9 euros;
